Palo extends SAP connectivity

February 03, 2010

by: Nathan Dukes

Jedox has expanded its SAP Palo connectivity with the latest version of the Palo ETL 3.1 extraction tool.

Palo is a leading in-memory OLAP open source solution for planning and forecasting with native connectors to major ERP systems, including SAP.

The solution allows for the movement of data between Palo and the ERP to ensure consistency, accuracy and traceability of the numbers.

Previously, Palo ETL enabled the extraction of data directly from the SAP Business Warehouse (BW) for entry in the OLAP database Palo.

With the enhanced Palo SAP connectivity, it is now no longer necessary to refer to SAP BW for OLAP analyses using SAP data.

SAP R/3 and ERP system users who do not require full BW functionality can now use the Palo Suite and Palo SAP Connectivity as an easy and very flexible alternative to a BI platform which can be installed quickly and is ideal for use by professionals.

By expanding Palo SAP Connectivity to include SAP R/3 and SAP ERP systems, Jedox has met the needs of many customers looking for cost-efficient planning, analysis and reporting tools for their SAP system data.

With access to SAP BW and SAP R/3 ERP-systems, Palo can now be integrated optimally into SAP landscapes.

SAP data is extracted simply and effectively at the table level or through a generic RFC /BAPI interface.

The ETL process is fully modelled using a graphic web front-end.

The Palo SAP Connectivity is an additional component of Palo ETL and is offered exclusively as part of the Palo Suite Premium.

Palo SAP Connectivity replaces the Palo ETL SAP Connector, which only enabled access to SAP BW.

Palo is available in Australia through implementation partner Naked Data.

Naked Data, with Palo developer Jedox, are together introducing Palo to Australian customers this March in a series of breakfast briefings.
