Ariba Sourcing

Mike McDaniel, Accenture

Accenture has expanded its longstanding collaboration with SAP to integrate the SAP Ariba Sourcing Professional technology into its proprietary procurement platform and deliver Procurement as a Service to business process outsourcing (BPO) clients.

As more companies move toward hybrid operating models, the expanded partnership is a natural evolution of Accenture’s existing partnership with SAP Ariba for clients using the software to manage their procurement spending and sourcing operations.

Now Accenture is harnessing the eRFX capabilities of the Ariba Sourcing Professional solution within its proprietary procurement business process outsourcing platform, which automates and integrates workflows across the source-to-pay process as it collects and analyses procurement data. With the addition of the Ariba technology, the solution will provide real-time scoring of qualitative questions and advanced auction capabilities such as Index based auctions and Net Present Value (NPV) auctions.

“Embedding additional SAP Ariba functionality into this infrastructure demonstrates our commitment to continuously expanding and enhancing the capabilities and services we bring to clients,” said Mike McDaniel, senior managing director, Accenture operations.

“This move also addresses a key need among clients looking for hybrid solutions where spend is managed by a combination of client and Accenture resources.”

“Today’s supply chains are more complex and global than ever. And in order to effectively manage their trading relationships and spend, companies need a strategic sourcing environment that is connected to a powerful supplier network with superior tools, expertise, and information,” said David Johnston, senior vice president, partner ecosystem, SAP Ariba.
