Demand for the SAP Cloud portfolio and the SAP HANA platform were the company’s two most notable trends in the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region in 2014, according to the company’s most recent financial results.
Across APJ, non-IFRS cloud subscriptions and support revenue grew 98 per cent year-on-year in Q4 2014, and by 59 per cent over the full year.
India was also a strong performer in the region, delivering double-digit software revenue growth in Q4.
“Our strategy over the longer term is to have new and existing customers operating on the SAP HANA platform,” said Adaire Fox-Martin, President , SAP APJ. “We’ll continue to focus on our customer in everything that we do, and we have a duty to help them run better, run simple in the SAP Cloud powered by SAP HANA.”
With Ariba and hybris coming into the SAP fold, the rise of e-commerce in the region has boosted demand for SAP’s solutions in these areas, and SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA has also gained further traction over the last year.
“What we’re seeing here is continued growth in customer interest and take-up in SAP Cloud and SAP HANA, which will bode well for 2015,” said Fox-Martin. “SAP will continue to catalyze a transformation that will lead to a Hyperconnected Asia. It is a fusion of the Internet of Things in various industries. Businesses will tap new customers and be more connected to communities through new networks.”
SAP customer highlights for Q4 in APJ included:
- Australia’s leading freight mover ,Toll Group, licensing SAP Simple Finance, the Ariba Network and SAP Fieldglass, to replace multiple existing legacy systems.
- Sinagpore’s leading multi-modal transport service, SMRT, upgrading to the SAP Business Suite on the HANA platform, to gain capability in predictive maintenance and operational excellence.
- Philippine Geothermal Production Company employing Ariba Procure-to-Pay and Contract Management for its joint venture with Chevron and All-First Equity Holdings. The new solution will help to consistently drive compliance, and maintain and enhance contract visibility and buying in the organisation.
- Bangladesh’s Meghna Group of Industries implementing the SAP Business Suite for its more than 15,000 employees, 3000 distributors, and 1000 suppliers, to help leverage data and insights to assist in making real-time business decisions.
