CIO Greg Farr will be leaving the Department of Defence at the end of his contract on 18 November 2012, according to a statement by Defence.
After almost five years with the department, Farr has led a number of major projects. One of the most notable was the Defence ICT Strategic Reform Program. According to the Department website, the program radically reformed ICT delivery to the Australian Defence Force and “simultaneously achieved $1.9 billion in savings”.
A spokesperson from the Department clearly stated that Farr would have “no opportunity to extend the contract”. Farr will be “finishing the contract, take a break, then will look at opportunities next year.”
The Department is currently seeking applicants to fill Farr’s role.
