With the new year just a few weeks old, SAP has announced its first successful Business ByDesign project for 2014, implemented by Artis Group.

Redflex Traffic Systems, which develops and manufactures a range of digital photo enforcement system decided to upgrade its systems to the integrated cloud-based platform after substantial growth in recent years, both in terms of employees and customers, meant its previous systems were no longer adequate.

Redflex CEO, Ricardo Fiusco, said, “We needed a comprehensive solution which was not only fit for purpose today, but was going to future-proof our organisation as we move through further growth and expansion. Artis and SAP Business ByDesign offered both a demonstrable and customisable platform and service which addressed our unique business requirements.”

Based in South Melbourne, Redflex runs its own systems engineering operations, system integration technologies and Innovation Centre for research and development.

Artis Group’s general manager, southern region, and national SAP practice manager, Andrew Long, said the project was delivered in 12 weeks, broken down “so that organisational learning was achieved at a pace that allowed for constant growth of capability”.

The project has seen Business ByDesign replace existing systems for finance, human resources, manufacturing and reporting processes.

Redflex operations manager, Troy Gay, said, “Project management, HR and financials are already fully implemented and are providing integrated, end-to-end processes and management reporting. Project management issues associated with multiple forms of the truth are not non-existent, and with the on-boarding of stage two and three imminent, and the subsequent retirement of the existing systems, efficiencies and savings are virtually guaranteed.”
