A joint effort to assist Australasian drinks manufacturer Frucor with digital transformation has led to a wider partnership between Dimension Data New Zealand and SAP partner REALTECH, aimed at helping New Zealand businesses with their SAP HANA service management.
In the first partnership of its type in New Zealand, the two companies will work together to assist businesses to move, upgrade or refresh SAP applications into a New Zealand-based SAP certified cloud and onto SAP HANA certified infrastructure. Together they will offer SAP Certified Hosting with SAP Application and SAP HANA Services and local support from within New Zealand.
The partnership was spawned when Dimension Data and REALTECH came together in 2016 to discuss the challenges and opportunities clients face as they move to cloud and to SAP HANA.
The two companies then worked on the Frucor implementation, and delivered a full SAP migration from their legacy platform in Australia to the Dimension Data Managed Cloud Platform in New Zealand.
The advantages of the service for Frucor is that the company now has a flexible contract, with Dimension Data hosting their SAP environment for less than they previously spent, with full access to a roadmap of SAP and HANA services. According to REALTECH, Frucor’s migration to the cloud was achieved by REALTECH without delay and with no issues for the end users.
Deciding to use the experience and knowledge gained from the project for other clients, the companies formed a joint management team to create a partnership to provide clients with a single engagement model for SAP and Cloud services, a fast, agile and repeatable delivery mode, and an SAP Certified Public Cloud Service.
“Clients want an experienced team to work with as they look for guidance when their existing SAP environment comes up for refresh and to understand how SAP can work in a cloud consumption model,” said Marcel Rafter, NextGen data centre practice manager, Dimension Data NZ.
The venture’s location in New Zealand is expected to be a drawcard for local customers, with support for the full range of SAP Business Solutions on SAP NetWeaver, HANA and S/4HANA platforms.
Dimension Data and REALTECH expect that the new offering will attract clients that have an SAP environment that requires a refresh, replatform or upgrade, those who want to keep their data onshore, and those who don’t want to have to deal with multiple parties and wear the risk integration and performance risks.
“Clients want local people to talk to, to understand their business and build a trusted relationship with. They want to know there is a local team that will answer their call and personally take responsibility to return them to service. That is what this partnership will deliver,” said Rafter.
