HP’s HANA As-a-Service solution available worldwide

Announced 12 months ago, HP’s As-a-Service solution for SAP HANA has now been made available worldwide.

The solution brings together the software license for SAP HANA, along with hardware and ongoing management services, bundled into a complete solution in an as-a-service model.

Clients such as Origin Energy, Avon Cycles and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories have utilised the solution which provides access to HANA via a simple monthly subscription fee, milestone payments, or as ‘bring your own license’, helping clients unlock the value from already-purchased SAP HANA licenses.

“Our clients have shown significant adoption and interest in the HP As-a-Service Solution for SAP HANA,” said Nick Wilson, managing director, HP South Pacific. “Whether a client wants help in defining the business case for SAP HANA or a full-blown as-a-service solution, HP and SAP have the skills and capabilities to make this a reality.”

HP provides an end-to-end service by integrating the HP Appliance Portfolio for SAP HANA, HP infrastructure and Application Management Services for SAP HANA, HP Industry and Strategic Services for SAP HANA, and HP Helion Cloud and Security Services for SAP HANA into a single architecture and value proposition that can be offered under one commercial agreement.

“The ongoing investment HP is making in market-leading value propositions such as the HP As-a-Service Solution for SAP HANA, demonstrates that we have a complementary agenda – to deliver extraordinary value to clients,” said Justin Battles, global vice president, Corporate Business Development, SAP. “HP’s capabilities and collaborative approach means it is well positioned to deliver on the promise of SAP HANA to clients.”

HP and SAP are also collaborating on various initiatives for SAP HANA, including the next generation of HP ConvergedSystems and HP AppSystems for SAP HANA, enhancing HP’s Helion Virtual Private Cloud capabilities, developing industry-specific solutions, and identifying joint channels to market in efforts to further accelerate business uptake.
