Two SAP compatible EPR platforms will now be one

Excel4apps is a best-in-class provider of Microsoft Excel-based reporting and data-loading software for use with SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and FinancialForce. By empowering business professionals in a range of industries with independent and secure access to real-time ERP data via Microsoft Excel, the company’s products expedite accurate and timely business decisions. Excel4apps products include the award-winning GL Wand for financial reporting, as well as software for budget and planning data uploads and other types of reports.

insightsoftware, the global leader in ERP reporting and enterprise performance management solutions, today announced the acquisition of Excel4apps, a leading provider of Microsoft Excel-based reporting software for Oracle E-Business Suite and SAP. Through their suite of award-winning software solutions, Excel4apps makes it easy to obtain, analyze, share, and present business-critical data in real time, providing users with meaningful insights to manage their business more efficiently and effectively.

With this acquisition, insightsoftware further extends its international reach and technology footprint by bringing together the market’s two leading Excel-based reporting solutions, along with a broader portfolio, including web-based applications and mobile visual analytics, to effectively create the industry’s first centralized partner for financial reporting and enterprise performance management.

Excel with SAP and insightsoftware

Founded in 2005, Excel4apps set out to develop an Excel-based ERP reporting solution that simplified the complex, slow, and often inaccurate process of creating meaningful business intelligence from enterprise reporting tools. “We built Excel4apps to help business leaders make better sense of their data, in real-time, so they could immediately solve the challenges they face,” said Chris Meyer, CEO of Excel4apps. “Joining forces with insightsoftware allows us to take our products to the next level where we can provide more value and a wider set of solutions to our customers.”

“With this acquisition, insightsoftware now has the industry’s largest base of software implementations, with 155,000 active users across 130 countries,” said Lipps. “We are well-positioned to continue our growth by offering a wider selection of complementary products across our combined solution sets. This ensures that customers can realize the benefits regardless of the size of their business, the ERP they use, or where they like to manage their reporting process.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. insightsoftware is a portfolio company of TA Associates.
