On the Move: SAP appoints new president for North America

DJ Paoni, SAP North America

SAP has named DJ Paoni as president of SAP North America, responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations, strategy and profitability throughout the US and Canada, effective immediately.

Paoni replaces Jennifer Morgan, SAP Executive Board Member, who held the presidency position for almost four years, even after she was appointed to the SAP executive board in May 2017. The move will enable Morgan to focus exclusively on her role on the executive board.

“This appointment to regional president is a testament to his proven track record of customer success and his passion for building upon our unique employee culture across the region,” said Morgan, praising Paoni’s direct contribution to the ongoing transformation of SAP “whether he’s inspiring our growing sales force, solving the unique needs of our diverse customers or identifying visionary business strategies that will ensure SAP’s long-term financial growth throughout North America.”

Paoni, who joined SAP in 1996, has a long track record of delivering strong results in an escalating series of leadership roles that have included president of North America sales, managing director for the US mid-west market unit, and head of the Strategic Customer Program in North America, among many others. Paoni has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

“The cloud is the great equaliser, providing companies of all sizes the ability to transform and sustainably grow. Our employees and partners have a long-term focus on ensuring customers’ success and delivering on our vision and purpose to help the world run better and improve people’s lives,” said Paoni.
