SAP has released an enhanced version of its SAP Carbon Impact OnDemand Solution, which it says will help companies credibly report, analyse and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
According to SAP, SAP Carbon Impact OnDemand 5.0 enables users to establish an inventory of a company’s global environmental performance across all facilities.
SAP said the enhanced solution can be used to develop an optimal strategy for energy and emissions reduction based on financial and operational parameters, while automated data collection from multiple sources and systems will reduce reporting costs, improve data accuracy and shorten reporting cycles.
Peter Graf, chief sustainability officer and executive vice president of sustainability solutions, SAP AG, said organisations face a tremendous challenge in responding to the concerns of consumers, NGOs and governments about greenhouse emissions.
“They need to reliably report and profitably reduce their carbon footprints in their home markets and on a global scale,” said Graf.
He said companies must harvest accurate carbon data from back-end systems, analyse and benchmark their performance against peers and build high supplier and employee engagement.
“Designed to meet the energy and carbon management needs in today’s global economy, SAP Carbon Impact OnDemand 5.0 is a reliable, user-friendly solution that helps organisations execute against energy and carbon reduction goals by expanding the reach from a local level to the global enterprise.”
