Computer Networks has embarked on a regional expansion program, with the opening of new, larger premises in Gosford and a new office planned for Newcastle.
Computer Networks is the technology infrastructure arm of the CN Group of Companies, a tier two SAP hosting and services partner.
Richard Gibbs, group managing director, Central Coast and Newcastle, Computer Networks, said, “One important reason for opening larger offices is that we’ve found that businesses in the region prefer doing business with IT service firms based locally. They like to drop by and talk to you face-to-face and work with you as their de facto IT department.
“Where we differentiate ourselves from other local IT firms is that we can draw on the skills and technical experience of our Sydney and Brisbane operations to deliver enterprise class technology driven solutions to our customers.”
Computer Networks has also moved its shared service operations (finance, procurement, and sales support) from Sydney to the Central Coast to tap into the strong local skills base.
“We are the only Australian company with local SAP hosting certification which lets us present our Central Coast customers with the option of fully hosted enterprise-grade SAP benefits at SME prices,” Gibbs said. “We become, in effect, their bridge to the benefits of cloud computing.”
Anthony Dow, CEO, Regional Development Australia, Central Coast, said it was great to see a business like Computer Networks invest in the region.
“It not only opens more job opportunities for the local community but also provides international technology expertise and best practice that other Central Coast businesses can utilise to be more competitive.”
