SAPPHIRE NOW: SAP goes direct to individual with digital offerings

With the wave of digital transformation breaking hard on the shores of organisations the world over, SAP is taking a new approach to getting its technology into the hands of individuals.

SAP has created new digital offerings designed for immediate personal consumption by business owners, salespeople, business analysts, human resources and talent managers, and developers, with just the swipe of a credit card.

“This is a key accelerator of SAP’s growth aspirations as the SAP Digital organisation will create new revenue through new offerings that appeal to a new, individual buyer,” said Bill McDermott, CEO and member of the Executive Board of SAP SE.

To enable the new purchasing process, the SAP Digital organisation has streamline contracts for its offerings down to a simple one-click online agreement and transparent pricing. Individuals can configure their new applications in a few hours or less without requiring the input of IT or consultants. The solutions can also be upgraded to an enterprise edition without extensive effort or business disruption.

For example, individuals can upgrade from the free version of SAP Lumira to access extra features in the paid version, for US$995 per user. Other digitally native offerings launched by SAP include:

  • SAP Digital for Customer Engagement, a simplified cloud CRM solution designed for individuals and small teams, with enterprise-grade capabilities for sales and customer service. It is available on the SAP Store with a 30-day free trial and priced at US$29 per user per month. With data accessible on all devices, the solution can be upgraded to SAP Cloud for Customer at any time.
  • SuccessFactors Perform & Reward, a talent management bundle designed for small divisions and businesses with fewer than 500 employees, with pricing starting at US$8 per user per month.
  • SAP Learning Hub, providing online access to a huge selection of SAP Education content and learning rooms, has a business user edition at just over US$300 per user per year, with volume discounts available.

Other offerings already available on the SAP Store include SAP HANA Cloud Platform, SAP Crystal solutions and the SAP SQL Anywhere suite.
