At SAPPHIRE NOW, SAP has added to its analytics portfolio with a new visualisation tool, designed to give business users a new way to find and analyse data.
A desktop version of SAP BusinessObjects Explorer software, SAP Visual Intelligence software is powered by the SAP HANA platform and enables users to perform data discovery regardless of their technical skill level. According to SAP, utilising the software users will be able to easily explore, alter and share information in order to make informed decision and seek new opportunities, without having to ask IT to create reports.
The tool will also help companies to maximise their existing business intelligence investments, by enabling a greater proportion of users to effectively access existing data and analytics.
Cindi Howson, founder of BI Scorecard, said visual data discovery, which SAP Visual Intelligence enables, is a critical part of the BI tool portfolio.
“Ease of use, time to insight and business agility are key reasons for the rapid growth of visual data discovery that provides users with greater self service with minimal IT support,” said Howson. “SAP BusinessObjects Explorer provided ease of use, but the release of SAP Visual Intelligence brings greater flexibility and richer analysis.”
