Soltius attains AWS managed service provider status

Soltius was recently presented with the AWS Specialised Partner of the Year award.

New Zealand-based technology solutions provider, Soltius, has earned AWS managed service provider (MSP) accreditation, joining the AWS MSP Partner Program.

This achievement builds on the foundation the company has built of delivering innovative SAP solutions to organisations across New Zealand, with offices in both Auckland and Wellington.

AWS recognises managed service providers as skilled providers of cloud infrastructure and application migration services that deliver value through proactive monitoring, automation and management of their customers’ environments.

Coming just 18 months after Soltius started to build this capability, the MSP accreditation is expected to provide Soltius with new tools to continue to deliver innovative services to their customers.

Earning the accreditation involved meeting stringent requirements including a third-party audit of their AWS managed service capabilities. “The audit process covers how partners should plan, build, integrate, operate, optimise and provide security on AWS,” said Ryan Lewis, platform business line manager, Soltius.

“It’s been a great journey so far, of branching out into a new area and helping many of our existing clients innovate with the AWS Cloud,” said Lewis.

Another recent milestone on the company’s journey was its recent ‘ANZ Specialised Partner of the Year’ win at the 2017 ANZ AWS Partner Awards in Sydney.

For at least one customer, it was that journey, the experience it netted, and the focus on innovation using AWS that resulted in selecting Soltius at the outset of their cloud migration.

“What we were looking for was evidence that the partners we had chosen had done it before. From AWS to SAP to Soltius we have a set of people we were leaning on,” said Michael Nicholls, platform and solutions manager, Mercury Energy.

“You can’t just look internally — you have to look outside for partners, to take advantage of their expertise and experience, because they’ve done it before. And there’s no substitute for experience on the journey you are about to take,” said Nicholls.
