SAP and SuccessFactors have announced changes to the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite that will transform HR services into an end-to-end delivery model, with interactions between modules and processes.

The announcement was made at SuccessConnect 2015 in Las Vegas.

The new capabilities hinge on what SAP is calling “intelligent services”, which will be managed from a new event centre within SuccessFactors. These will enable individual transactions making up common workforce events but which cross multiple systems and software modules to be consolidated into a single experience.

For customers, this will remove the need for managers and business partners to identify all the relevant tasks when a change takes place, or use shared services to manually connect processes.

For example, workforce changes triggered by the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central solution can be cascaded to other solutions such as SAP SuccessFactors Learning and SAP SuccessFactors Performance and Goals, as well as third party solutions.

“We are taking the guesswork out of self-service by evolving to software-driven intelligent services,” said Mike Ettling, president, HR Line of Business at SuccessFactors. “Relying on software-driven intelligence to remove complexity from typical HR transactions, employees are empowered to do more on their own, reducing expenses in shared services and business process outsourcing (BPO).”

There are currently 16 predefined workforce changes available now – including becoming a manager, leave of absence, hire, termination, change in employee info, and change in job info – with new events planned in future releases of the solutions.
